Tips for smooth clean line art
Is your line art shaky, wobbly, sloppy, fat, uneven or pixelated? The subject of clean line art comes up a lot so I've gathered together a number of tips from various DA members that may help you improve your line art. Some of the techniques described below may contradict other techniques described below so you may want to experiment and decide what works best for you. Most of these assume that you have a digital tablet. (Make sure your tablet drivers have been installed correctly. If your cursor is behaving erratically it may indicate a problem with your tablet or drivers.) Some posts have been edited for brevity or spelling:
"I developed my own technique. And it works quite well for me. It raised my Lineart cleanliness from 24% to 98%, yeah, really. Here is how I do it digitally when I'm not using a traditional sketch:
:bulletblue: First a rough sketch, and I isolate it in its own layer then set its opacity to 50 or something near that value.
:bulletblue: Then on the second layer

About a year ago, I was admiring an artist's work, and now I can't find a trace of him anywhere on the internet. Part of the problem is, I don't remember his name. I was hoping someone in the DA community might know who I mean!

He did a lot of fluid, cartoony-style characters, but he seemed to specialize in drawing women, often with exaggerated feminine anatomy (tiny waists, huge hips, etc.). A lot of these were mermaids, or women and fish otherwise combined in the same illustrations. Many involved a watery setting, many also involved fishermen characters. Some of these were quite risqué (and sometimes sexist, I would say) and I recall some had been censored from his Facebook page.

He was using Paint Tool SAI as his drawing tool at the time. I thought I recall him being Russian, but I could be wrong there.

This artist's work was highly polished and professional, and he seemed to have a significant web presence, so I can't understand how he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth! Thanks in advance for any tips as to who this might be.
